Study abroad is amazing - it’s one of the great tools for expanding minds and creating leadership skills in the next generation of leaders of an increasingly interconnected world.

We’ve been leaders in study abroad housing since 2012, but we noticed that there’s an accessibility gap - there aren’t enough opportunities for students who don’t have the budget to afford standard programs, and for students who don’t attend expensive, high-profile colleges and universities.

We combined our skills and buying power to create a less expensive product (and we’ve made things a la carte), enlarging the number of students who can benefit from this life-altering experience.

How do we compare on services?

To help bring down our costs, we’ve left out a few items that others typically include. Here’s a comparison:

How do we compare on price?

We’ve leveraged our existing housing infrastructure and added to our Customer Service and Sales teams to bring Study Abroad for Less to life. That means we didn’t need to create a new company, hire a new executive team, and start recruiting clients from ground zero. So we’re able to pass those significant savings along to our customers. A typical Study Abroad for Less semester costs 15%-30% less than others’ at the same destination school, with all of the services noted above. And we also offer need-based scholarships that can reduce the cost of a great study abroad experience even more.

What does “accessibility” mean to us?

Why should such a powerful tool belong only to those who go to schools who’ve been offering study abroad for generations? There are nearly 4,000 institutions of higher learning in the US, and only a handful of them offer regular study abroad programs. What if you go to a school without that history? How about a community college? Our mission is to reach students who haven’t typically had the option to simply convert their existing tuition payments or financial aid packages to cover a study abroad experience. We’re looking to E - X - P - A - N - D the pool of people who study outside the US, by creating a la carte programs and packages more suited to their budgets.
